Out with a fresh EP titled Pink Lightning, Xavier Omar is ready to rock Philly once again. If you’re not aware, Omar is the new voice of alternative R&B (think Kelela and Brent Faiyaz type), and he kicked things off with this year’s Heineken Green Room season. Ntozake Shange wrote the Broadway-staged award-winning For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When The Rainbow Is Enuf,” the groundbreaking prose poem/theater piece hybrid that since 1975 has helped reveal what it is to be of color and female in America. 4. RAPSODY: WISDOM IS POWER TOUR

If you have not heard of Rapsody, now is the perfect time to get acquainted. Now with a double-nomination for a Grammy award for Best Rap Album and Best Rap song, Rapsody is up there with the big leagues and ready to show the world a new facet of female-rap. 5. PHILLY ART COLLECTIVE: 3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY EXHIBIT

Come celebrate 3 years in the making and creating with Philly Art Collective Showcases. For one night, they will showcase/sell their artwork in that honor. This one-night pop-up exhibit will feature 40 selected artists from different mediums and backgrounds. To accompany the visual artists and vendors there will be a variety of live art performances that will pop-up throughout the night. Complimentary food and wine will be provided while supplies last.
