1. 12TH ANNUAL MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. PEACE WALK & PARADE
Monday, January 15, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Come march with the Anacostia Community Museum! The museum invites you to be part of this historical event. Over one thousand ‘Peace Walkers’ join annually in the walk along MLK Ave in Southeast DC. Notable previous year attendees included actor and singer Nick Cannon, Mayor Muriel Bowser, former Mayor and more. This event is held annually on the federal MLK holiday and is organized by the Coalition for Peace, a group of individuals and non-profits dedicated to peace and positivity for the Washington DC metropolitan communities.Learn more HERE.

2. HOW TO DO BUSINESS AND WIN CONTRACTS WITH THE GOVERNMENT
Tuesday, January 16, 2018, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

3. BIKEDC HAPPY HOUR

6. THE ALLEYESONDC SHOW: GO GO’S AFRICAN ROOTS
Friday, January 19, 2018, 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
More than a month after their return from the Motherland, Team Familiar, D.C.’s premier grown and sexy go-go band, will reflect on what they learned during their five-day excursion in Nigeria. During which they showcased the go-go sound for African royalty, met legends, and learned about percussion’s African roots. This show, streamed on Facebook live in front of an audience at Sankofa, will include a short performance from the legendary Go-Go Mickey. Learn more HERE.

7. DAY OF MINDFULNESS
Saturday, January 20, 2018, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

10. KENNEDY CENTER FREE ZUMBA
Sunday, January 21, 2018, 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Do you like to workout while having fun? If so, the Kennedy Center is hosting a free Zumba class at the Millennium Stage. No tickets are necessary for this class. Just come and move to salsa, merengue and a fusion of Latin music for 60min of high energy fun with the the Zumbadoras of Joy of Motion Dance Center, one of DC’s oldest dance studios.
