1. WOMEN’S SELF-DEFENSE CLASS
Tuesday, February 20, 2018, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Ladies, sign up for this self-defense class at theLAB Nashville so that you can learn how to defend yourself in all types of situations. Wear comfortable clothing and be prepared for this class with military-trained JC Shegog of Total Self Defense. The topics that will be covered include parking safety, rape prevention, sexual assault awareness, empty-hand defense techniques, and application with firearms and other devices. Learn more HERE.

2. 50th ANNUAL EQUAL OPPORTUNITY DAY LUNCHEON
Wednesday, February 21, 2018, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The Urban League of Middle Tennessee is celebrating 50 years of service to the community, and they are commemorating those 50 years at their Equal Opportunity Day luncheon. The keynote speaker for the event is Metro Nashville Public Schools Superintendent Shawn Joseph. The luncheon will be at Hilton Nashville Downtown. Learn more HERE.

3. BATTLE OF THE SEXES: BLACK HISTORY MONTH EDITION
Thursday, February 22, 2018, 5:45 p.m. – 8:00 p.m
Do the ladies run this? Do the fellas run this? It is time to battle it out to find out. Urban League Young Professionals of Middle Tennessee are hosting this Battle of the Sexes where you can mix and mingle with other Nashvillians and show how much you know about Black pop culture. 4. WINE & GRIND: HAPPY HOUR MIXER AND NETWORKING
Friday, February 23, 2018, 6:30 p.m.
End your work week the right way at theLAB Nashville, a co-working space in the heart of the city, every Friday evening for a mixer and networking happy hour. You will have the opportunity to network with other Black professionals, entrepreneurs, and creatives based here in Nashville and surrounding areas. 5. SINBAD AT ZANIES
Friday – Sunday, February 23-25, 2018, various times
Zanies Nashville hosts some of the best comedy legends, and this weekend Sinbad will be bringing his show here to the city. This internationally known actor and comedian is one of the best storytellers to hit the stage, and you will definitely laugh from your gut. 6. THE MIXXX
Friday, February 23, 2018, 10:00 p.m. – 2:30 a.m.
Are you in The Mixxx? The InCrowd Society, A-List Ent., 1stFlight Ent., and Miami Mike present The Mixxx on Demonbreun for all the young, Black professionals and the socialites to mixxx it up. It’s for the young, sexy, and lit, and it’s going down at SOUTH on Demonbreun. Learn more HERE.

7. JAZZ BRUNCH
Saturday, February 24, 2018, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Join the National Sales Network (NSN), Nashville Chapter, for their annual Jazz Brunch where you can enjoy an upscale brunch buffet, complimentary mimosas for the first 50 guests, a live jazz band, and a cash bar. The brunch will be held at WKND Hang Suite. Admission is free for NSN members, and general admission tickets can be purchased at the door. NSN is a membership organization whose mission is to meet the professional and developmental needs of African-American professionals in sales and sales management. 8. NASHVILLE BLACK PRIDE MIXER
Saturday, February 24, 2018, 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Nashville Black Pride hosts events and celebrations created for and by the local African-American LGBT community. They are having a free business mixer this weekend so that you can mix, mingle, and strengthen your network with others in the business world. Have your business cards, flyers, brochures, and your best “elevator pitch” ready for this networking mixer at 442 Metroplex Drive. Learn more HERE.

9. JEFFERSON STREET ART CRAWL
Saturday, February 24, 2018, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Support Black art and support Black artists. The Jefferson Street Art crawl is a great opportunity to see beautiful pieces and creations by some of the most talented artists in Nashville. Drop by Garden Brunch Cafe, Chart Optical, Woodcuts Gallery, and Cultural Visions Art for gallery stops along the art crawl. Also, make sure to stop by One Drop Ink Tattoo Parlour and Gallery for the Heroes, Legends, and Queens exhibition which is a continuation of the Black Panther Art Immersion events. 10. THE BOOM BAP NASHVILLE: FEATURING DJ AKTIVE
Saturday, February 24, 2018, 9:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.
Just like all other months on the 4th Saturday, Nashville’s monthly hip-hop party is back this Saturday night with another installment. The Boom Bap Nashville brings everybody out to have a good time. Resident DJs will be spinning hip-hop hits and classics, and this month’s featured guest is DJ Aktive hailing from Philly. It all goes down at The Basement East, and early arrival is suggested. This is a 21+ event and cover is $10 at the door. Learn more HERE.
