10 Chicago Events For Black Professionals This Week

1. ARE WE ON 10 YET?
Monday, March 12, 2018, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Prepare for your flight to Wakanda, as Bureau Bar and Diageo Reserve join forces to bring you Panther Party. The evening will start with a private showing of Black Panther at The Icon on Roosevelt. Hosted by Don Julio and Cîroc, cocktails will start flowing at 7 pm with the show starting at 7:30. Following the show, book a flight to Bureau Bar for a night of cocktails and community featuring drinks from our friends at Bulleit, Tanqueray 10, and Ron Zacapa. Learn more HERE.

2. THIRST TRAP
Tuesday, March 13, 2018, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Chicago superstars Rebecca O’Neal and Lainie Lenertz present an incredible one-night comedy event at Lakeview’s Laugh Factory. Rebecca O’Neal is a hilariously cerebral and confessional young comic whose upbringing on Chicago’s southside coupled with her love of language and tendency toward introspection endear her to audiences of all backgrounds. Well-known for her wild performance style and acerbic wit, Lainie is a Senior Producer of Hoo Ha Comedy and has a forthcoming album with Stand Up! 3. SOUL SPEAK POETRY WRITING WORKSHOP & OPEN MIC FOR ADULTS
Thursday, March 15, 2018, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Harold Green and KLove are back at the Little Black Pearl to host their monthly adult writing workshop and open mic series. It all goes down at Soul Speak every third Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Admission is $5 for workshop participants and $10 for open mic attendees. Learn more HERE.

4. NAPPI HOUR BLACK WOMEN’S APPRECIATION MONTH
Friday, March 16, 2018, 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
AFROTRAK Presents NAPPI HOUR: A Tribute To Black Women. Come let your hair down after work on Friday, March 16, 2018. The party runs from 5 pm to 10 pm at The Wild Hare with music from DJs BLKBRD and Cut Cuz. Plus, enjoy a live performance from the glorious Loona Dae. Learn more HERE.

5. DA SOUL @ ZHOU B ART CENTER
Friday, March 16, 2018, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Hosted by BRAEL, come out for a night of spoken word, footwork, live body painting and so much more Black creative soul. Come out to the Zhou B Art Center to witness a one of a kind art experience that could only happen in Chicago. Artists include Daniel Mr. Talented, Terrell McKinney, KoStar, Me’Chelle, Frankiem Mitchell, and others. This event will also serve as an open mic. Learn more HERE.

6. DEJA VU ST. PATRICK’S DAY “DAY PARTY”
Saturday, March 17, 2018, 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Join Echelon and Sean Mac as they celebrate their 5th annual St. Pattys Day ‘Day Party’ in Chicago. They have mastered this annual event, and this year they will be celebrating the event at Cuvee- a high-class venue in River North that boasts brilliant decors and a great ambiance. 7. GREEN WITH ENVY ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARTY FT. THE BREAKFAST CLUB’S DJ ENVY

Get excited Chicago! This year, PYRAMID and the Movemakers will be kicking off day party season like only they can with their best day party yet. 10. HONOR HER LABOR: A POP UP GALLERY

BYP100 will be having a pop up gallery at AMFM Gallery for their #HonorHerLabor campaign that’s been taking place since last year. There will be vendors, performances, artists showing their work and most importantly a panel featuring some of the most powerful women our organizing communities know.
