10 Nashville Events For Black Professionals This Week

There’s always something to do in The Ville! Check out my curated event list for Black professionals in Nashville this week.

1. ON THE LEJ PRESENTS OPEN MIC TUESDAY
Tuesday, March 13. 2018, 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
On The LEJ hosts open mic nights on Tuesdays at Broken Spoke Saloon. Open mic nights are always enjoyable. You can witness raw talent, and you can even share some of your own performing arts skills. Be there to enjoy music, poetry, live art, and more. Learn more HERE.

2. ALVIN AILEY AMERICAN DANCE THEATER
Wednesday, March 14, 2018, 7:00 p.m.
The world-renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is bringing its live performance to Nashville. It is a show filled with performance art that is uplifting and engaging. The dancers will perform to contemporary works and Alvin Ailey’s classic masterpiece, Revelations. The show will be in the Andrew Jackson Hall at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC). Learn more HERE

3. WKND HAPPY HOUR
Thursday – Saturday, March 15-17, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Beat rush hour with happy hour! Whether you need to wind down from your workweek, or you want to pregame for your own weekend moves, the WKND Hang Suite has a great happy hour for you every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Enjoy specials on drinks and select food items during happy hour, 5:00 p.m – 8:00 p.m. Be there on Thursdays for “Live From The WKND” featuring live music from some of Nashville’s hottest bands and musicians. 4. SIPS & STANZAS CELEBRATES WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
Thursday, March 15, 2018, 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
The National Museum of African American Music has regular programming for you to enjoy, including the recurring event, Sips & Stanzas. This month’s installment is a celebration of women’s history month. They will highlight feminist movements as well as female artists and lyricists who gave voices to the voiceless. Join the discussion at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel. Music, sips, and networking starts at 6:00 p.m., and the discussion starts at 6:30 p.m. Learn more HERE.

5. THIRDSTY THURSDAY
Thursday, March 15, 2018, 6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Clerisy Circle regularly hosts Thirdsty Thursday events on the third Thursday of the month. This month’s installment is the St. Patrick’s Day/March Madness Mash-Up, and it will be held at Pastime Nashville. 6. WINE & GRIND: HAPPY HOUR MIXER AND NETWORKING
Friday, March 16, 2018, 6:30 p.m.
End your work week the right way at theLAB Nashville, a co-working space in the heart of the city, every Friday evening for a mixer and networking happy hour. You will have the opportunity to network with other Black professionals, entrepreneurs, and creatives based here in Nashville and surrounding areas. 7. PARAGON SOCIAL CLUB AND THE VANGUARD PRESENTS: BLACK LOVE
Saturday, March 17, 2018, 7:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
The Paragon Social Club and The Vanguard are tastemakers in the social scene for young, Black professionals. They brought us The Vanguard Art Show last month, so that means it is time for the Black Love mixer this month. It’s a party, and it’s a vibe. Be there at Track One to celebrate Black love, Black culture, and Black beauty in every shade. Dance to the hottest sounds of Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae, Soca, and EDM. 8. COLORS UNPLUGGED
Saturday, March 17, 2018, 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Dream Technicians present Colors Unplugged which is a monthly, intimate performance with some of Nashville’s rising artists. Support indie artists and original talent during this showcase at Construct. The line-up includes performances by SeddyMac, Famewalking, Saaneah, WHXT NXCOLE, AhmadMusic, and Evan Acklin. 9. 4th ANNUAL LITTLE RED DRESS AFFAIR
Saturday, March 17, 2018, 9:30 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.
Put on your red dress, and slip on your high heels. Get ready for the Little Red Dress Affair at 9 Bar\Lounge. Rise to the occasion because it’s DJ Coop’s birthday bash. This affair is sponsored by Luc Belaire and hosted by Joe Major. MMG DJ Q and DJ Caine from 61V will be on the 1’s and 2’s. 10. NXT LVL: THE GAME•ISH BRUNCH
Sunday, March 18, 2018, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
