1. SINGER SY SMITH: MUSICAL TRUTHS & TREATS
Monday, March 26, 2018, 7:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
An intimate evening with Sy Smith as she shares her new album “Sometimes A Rose Will Grow In Concrete” (#SRWGC), talks shop about her 20-year career in music (as a recording artist and as a vocalist who has backed some of the top names in jazz and R&B), and performs an acoustic set. 2. INPRINT HOUSTON: AMINATTA FORNA & SAMANTA SCHWEBLIN READING
Monday, March 26, 2018, 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
An evening with two internationally celebrated women, Orange Prize finalist Aminatta Forna and Man Booker International Prize finalist Samanta Schweblin. Forna is a Scottish and Sierra Leonian writer teaching at Georgetown. Both authors will read from their latest books, Happiness and Fever Dream. 3. HOUSTON BLACK FILM FESTIVAL
Tuesday, March 27, 2018 – Saturday, March 31, 2018
The festival runs from March 27 through March 31, 2018! On day two of the festival, March 28, enjoy free movie screenings, and panels at the Montrose Center during the HBFF community outreach day! Win door prizes, and passes for additional festival access. Learn more HERE.

4. HOUSTON STARTUP DEMO DAY
Wednesday, March 28, 2018, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

6. JHENE AIKO AND ELLA MAI

7. SPRING BLAST!
Friday, March 30, 2018, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Every year on Good Friday the family-friendly spring blast is held at Hobart Taylor Park. There is free food, prizes, and performances along with appearances by local elected officials. Impacting Houston, Inc. and the Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators are the host organizations and they welcome the entire Houston community to this free event! Learn more HERE.

8. DATA DUMP HOUSE PARTY
Friday, March 30, 2018, 9:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.
Data Dump is the new house-party jam happening at Axelrad every last Friday of the month. The event will possess a future aesthetic influenced by visuals and sound. Input Output will be sending out the visual data while Changing Womon, WAVEOFTHEFUTURE, and The Regal People serve up the sound data. 9. OF WOMEN CONTINUES: AN ARTIST PANEL DISCUSSION
Saturday, March 31, 2018, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
To close out Women’s History Month, the Of Women Continues artists will be discussing how the ever-evolving idea of womanhood influences their work. Each artist has their own take on this topic, their reasons, and motivations for creating woman-centered art. Come listen and participate in this panel and ongoing talk about the impact of female artists and feminine subject matters. 10. SADE & CIDER SPRING MIXER
Saturday, March 31, 2018, 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
