Monday, March 26, 2018, 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
APPF presents an activist happy hour. Come celebrate the opening of The African American Policy Forum’s (AAPF) 4th Annual #HerDreamDeferred series with #SayHerName: An Activist Happy Hour sponsored by Busboys and Poets Brookland. Executive Director Kimberlé Crenshaw, AAPF staff, and guests will be sharing updates on the #SayHerName movement, #BlackGirlsMatter, and other initiatives over drinks and food. 3. GOOD FRIDAY FISH FRY

4. WOMEN’S HOLISTIC HEALING SUMMIT
Saturday, March 31, 2018, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The Green Life Learning Center in partnership with Howard University’s Department of Pediatrics presents the Women’s Holistic Healing Summit (WHHS). The WHHS is a day of exhibitions, health screenings, lectures, workshops and seminars about holistic health practices for women of all ages. There will be the scheduled workshop Natural-Birth, Midwives & Doulas. Yoga, Zumba, Kickboxing and other exercise demos through the day, Eat to Live, along with free samples of healthy drinks and vegan foods. Learn more HERE.

5. BLOSSOM KITE FESTIVAL
Saturday, March 31, 10:00 a.m. –4:30 p.m.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival is kicking off kite season with the Blossom Kite Festival. This annual DC tradition showcases the creativity of kite makers and skill of fliers from across the US and other countries through a variety of competitions and demonstrations, Rokkaku Battles, and the Hot Tricks Showdown. Bring your own kites or children can make a kite at an activity station (while supplies last) to fly on the Public Field. Kites will also be available for purchase onsite. 6. EXHIBITION OPENING: PILOT DISTRICT PROJECT
Saturday, March 31, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
In 1968, the eyes of a worried nation were on Washington, D.C. After the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the ensuing widespread neighborhood destruction that followed in the district and nationwide, what would come next? Would D.C.’s political and community leaders rise to the occasion?A new exhibition organized as part of a city-wide commemoration of the 50th anniversary of King’s assassination explores the Pilot District Project (PDP), a local experiment in community policing. This musically themed fitness event happens across the district monthly on the last Saturday of the month. 9. PAINTING DREAMING RESISTING
Saturday, March 31, 2018, 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
On March 31, 2018 continues a monthly thematic paint hosted by Busboys and Poets and artist Curt “C. Love” Cunningham. It is a monthly series of expressive painting workshops wherein participants will explore their own creative expression as a meditative process. This month’s theme is transition. Join this Saturday as they paint the image of cherry blossoms displayed on the flyer. Japanese culture believes that cherry blossoms represent the transitory beauty of nature. They will explore the history and symbolism of cherry blossom trees in some Japanese cultures as you paint. This class is for amateurs and experts alike. 10. EASTER BRUNCH
Sunday, April 1, 2018, 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
