1. BLACK GIRL MAGIC BOOK LAUNCH
Monday, April 9, 2018, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
The BreakBeat Poets Vol. 2: Black Girl Magic continues and deepens the work of the first anthology in this series, The BreakBeat Poets: New American Poetry in the Age of Hip-Hop, by focusing on some of the most exciting Black women writing today. This anthology breaks up the myth of hip-hop as a boys’ club, and asserts the truth that the cypher is a feminine form. 2. JOVAN LANDRY AT THE BEAT KITCHEN
Wednesday, April 11, 2018, 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

3. ANNEX URBAN MURAL EXHIBIT
Thursday, April 12, 2018, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Join Hotel Chicago in the West Loop as they unveil guest room murals by two of Chicago’s iconic street artists, Art by JCRivera and Asend. These rooms celebrate Chicago’s essence and will be opened to the public for viewing as part of their Annex Art program. Have the opportunity to see each mural up close and speak with the artists about their inspiration. Plus, enjoy food by Cemitas Puebla and beverages by Haymarket Pub and Brewery. Learn more HERE.

4. AMFM PRESENTS: THE PRODUCER SERIES
Thursday, AApril12, 2018, 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
The Producer Series is back! Join AMFM Gallery monthly at Virgin Hotels Chicago for sets featuring some of Chicago’s emerging and established producers. Featuring sets from Ambi Lyrics, DJ SKOLi, and OGWebbie. Also, experience sounds from AMFM DJ, Mojamid. Artists and emcees are encouraged to come up and spit if you feel moved by the beat and the producer allows. Learn more HERE.

5. 3RD ANNUAL DITCH DAY PARTY
Friday, April 13, 2018, 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Back in high school, a “DITCH PARTY” was a scheduled organized event to ditch your afternoon period classes and attend a hosted house party with your friends. Now with the long-anticipated arrival of Summertime CHI, young professionals across the city once again are itching to DITCH their imprisonment cubicles at the tail end of the work week and get the weekend started early. It don’t matter if you CALL IN SICK, take PTO, SNEAK OUTTA WORK, or simply got it like that to LEAVE WORK EARLY, just as long as you’re in the building for the Spring Kick-Off Party in Chicago! 6. ARTIST’S TALK: A TENDER POWER — A BLACK WOMANIST VISUAL MANIFESTO
Friday, April 13, 2018, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Artists Kimberly M. Harmon and Tracie D. Hall talk one on one about their poignant and timely two-woman show focusing on the interior of Black women’s lives as the first quarter of the 21st century approaches. 7. THE OFFICIAL CHICAGO WINE FEST
Saturday, April 14, 2018, 12:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
The Second Annual Official Chicago Wine Fest, presented by Craft Hospitality at the Lincoln Park Zoo, is officially upon us. Enjoy the Second Annual Official Chicago Wine Fest: Spring Edition; an elevated wine tasting experience that aims to stimulate all of your senses. 8. CHICAGO RUM FESTIVAL 2018
Saturday, April 14, 2018, 12:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
And if wine isn’t your thing, Chicago Rum Festival (previously MidWest Rum Fest) will offer a variety of experiences to all attendees. Experiences at the event include “MAIN EVENT has 3 Sessions: (1) Spirit Industry (2) VIP Grand Tasting (3) Grand Tasting “General Admission.” The Spirit Industry Session, which consists of a 1.5 hour program (12:30pm-2:00pm), offers industry professionals a chance to network with brand representatives, distributors, and importers, access to the tasting room, access brand seminars, mingle with industry colleagues, take home 1 signature cup. 9. TOUCH THE SKY II
Sunday, April 15, 2018, 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

10. CHAI TULANI & THE BOMBA LIVE WITH WYCLEF
