1. RITES OF SPRING 2018
Friday & Saturday, April 20-21, 2018
Every year, Vanderbilt University hosts its annual Rites of Spring music festival, and this year’s festival is coming up on Friday and Saturday. Get your tickets, blankets, and whatever other permissible items that you may need, and be at the Alumni Lawn at Vanderbilt University for some good live music. Performers for Friday evening include H.E.R., Kiiara, and DNCE. Then on Saturday, there will be sets by GoldLink, Born Animal, Cheat Codes, and the festival headliner, Gucci Mane. Learn more HERE.
2. DEEPER GROOVES PRESENTS EVOLVE WITH DAZ-I-KUE
Friday, April 20, 2018, 9:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.
House Music Nashville presents Deeper Grooves which is a party with dance music for the mind, body, and soul. The party is going down at Construct, cover is only $5, and it is a B.Y.O.B. event. Brian Moulter and resident Deeper Grooves Nashville DJ Soul Infinite will be opening the night. The guest DJ is Daz-I-Kue who hails from the U.K. by way of Atlanta, and he now resides here in Nashville. 3. NAC ALL WHITE BRUNCH & DAY PARTY

The Nashville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., will be hosting its 4th Annual All-White Affair this weekend at Sambuca. The brunch and day party will feature two levels of entertainment: a live band will be performing on the main level, and a DJ will be spinning in the upstairs lounge with beautiful views overlooking the Gulch. 4. NASHVILLE’S AFRICAN-AMERICAN AUTHOR FAIR

The African-American Author Fair attracts a wide array of traditional and self-published authors, book and magazine publishers, book clubs, libraries, illustrators, artists, and readers. The author fair is all about promoting a culture of reading, celebrating creativity, and connecting the reader to the writer and lots of books. You will have the opportunity to buy books directly from the authors, and you can even get them personalized and autographed. It is springtime, so ladies, it is now time to set those sundresses out! Head to TheLAB Nashville this weekend for Sundresses & Saturdaze which is a day party in celebration of Spring. 7. THE VANGUARD ART SHOW – 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

The Vanguard Art Show is not your ordinary art show. It is a full showcase and celebration of Black excellence. Fine art will be on exhibit, talented artists will bless the mic, and the DJs and live band will set the mood with jazz, hip-hop, and R&B/soul music throughout the night. This edition of the Vanguard Art Show is the 2-year anniversary of the event, so it will definitely be a special occasion. 8. THE COMEDY GET DOWN

Everyone loves a good laugh. This weekend, you will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see four comedy legends come together for a great event. Do not miss The Comedy Get Down Tour featuring Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, D.L. Hughley, and George Lopez. 9. BAD GAL RIRI: LIVE PLAYLIST

This will be a night dedicated to art heads, lovers of culture, and our favorite bad girl from Barbados, the one and only Rihanna, a.k.a. Bad Gal RiRi. Expect to hear great music including reggae/dancehall, hip-hop/trap, R&B/soul, deep house, and Rihanna-inspired DJ sets. Art will be on display by some of the best visual artists in the city, and there will also be live performances by local indie artists. Live Playlist will be hosted by Joe Major, sounds are curated by DJ Twoee, and the lineup of performers includes Saaneah, Vann, Albanus Thierry, Evan Dupri, Bella Moon, Sebastian Garcia, Evan Acklin, Taylor Dahlia, and Bryant Taylorr. The Hendersonville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., is hosting Status II this weekend at 9 Bar\Lounge. The Nupes want to give you an elite, urban nightlife experience.
