10 Charlotte Events For Black Professionals This Week

There’s always something to do in The Queen City! Check out my curated event list for Black professionals in Charlotte this week.

1. UNDERGROUND JAM SESSIONS AT CAMP NORTHEND
Tuesday, December 5, 2017, 8:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.
Charlotte is full of so much local talent and here is an opportunity to show support. Go and check out the work of music producers, spoken word artists, singers, dancers, etc at Camp Northend. 2. ECLECTIC SOUL POETRY NIGHT
Tuesday, December 5 2017, 8:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.
Head over to Apostrophe for a night of spoken word and local R&B artists. Show your support and there is an added bonus of a live painter. This event happens every Tuesday night starting at 8 pm. Learn more here.

3. BYOV: BRING YOUR OWN VINYL

4. FLOETRY SPOKEN WORD WEDNESDAYS: “MENTAL STIMULATION” EDITION

Sexy Lifestyle Specialist, Iz-Real the Poet is at FLO every Wednesday, providing amazing poetry in a mature atmosphere. FLO provides the food and the drinks to enjoy while watching the show. Dinner starts at 7 and the show begins at 8:30 until 10 pm when the after party begins. Learn more here.

5. MICHAEL BLACKSON
Thursday, December 7, 2017, 7:00 p.m.
One of the funniest guys in comedy, Michael Blackson, will be performing at The Comedy Zone this week. Between Thursday and Sunday, there will be six shows, if you miss out on Thursday night. Learn more here.

6. SOUL FOOD SESSIONS HOLIDAY FUNK FEST

7. FANTASIA CHRISTMAS AFTER MIDNIGHT

8. THE GRAY HOLIDAY PARTY: A FUNDRAISER FOR THE GANTT CENTER

9. THE FEATURED MIXER: DECEMBER EDITION
Saturday, December 9, 2017, 10:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m.
OutenLove Events and DJ Kato are back with their monthly mixers and this time they are hosting along with Charlotte In Crowd. Meet them at Sydney’s Martini Bar for a night of mingling and fun with tunes of hip-hop, R&B, and reggae all night. Learn more here.

10. THE CLASSIC BLACK CINEMA SERIES: THEIR EYES WERE WATCHING GOD
Sunday, December 4, 2017, 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
Once a month, you can see a classic black film at the Gantt Center for free if you are a member or a very low cost if not. This month’s choice is Their Eyes Were Watching God. The 2005 film is based on a novel by Zora Neale Hurston about life in the 1920s for African Americans. Learn more here.
