1. LIGHT YARDS 2017
Monday, December 11, 2017, 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
The Yards announces its 2017 light yards installation, a two-story glowing, interactive spheres that will illuminate The Yards for their third annual light yards holiday celebration. There will be four spherical globes, ranging in size from 8 to 22 feet in diameter featured with shadow theater technology projecting awe-inspiring holiday visuals. 2. SOKA TRIBE DANCE FITNESS DC
Thursday, December 14, 2017, 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Ready to join the Soka Tribe? They whine and work up a sweat to Caribbean and Afro beats. This power hour workout increases strength, muscle tone, and endurance. The Soka Tribe is building a community of people united by our love for culture and getting our bodies in top form. Get ready for them to bring the carnival vibe to a class near you. 3. LIL UZI VERT DC CONCERT
Friday, December 15, 2017, 6:30 p.m. -11:00 p.m.

4. D CRUISE: DINING, DRINKING, DANCING
Friday, December 15, 2017, 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Step aboard the Spirit of Washington Yacht for unparalleled cruising fun on the Potomac River. Fridays are back and better! The next urban DC lesbian Friday night social presents special guest Sunshine Anderson. She’ll be performing her classic hit single, “Heard It All Before” live. 6. SATURDAY CUBAN SALSA CLASS
Saturday, December 16, 2017, 12:45 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Looking for something fun to do with bae or your friends? Well, the dancing Cuban Salsa at DC’s well-loved arts collective is a ton of fun. The class is at 12:45 p.m. to about 3:30 p.m., with multiple class sessions and a break for social dancing. All levels of dancers are welcome; it’s a super friendly environment. 7. DRINK THE DISTRICT WINE FESTIVAL: HOLIDAY EDITION

8. 4TH ANNUAL DMV GRAND SLAM FINALS

Join Words Beats and Life at the GALA Hispanic Theatre for the 4th Annual Youth Poetry Grand Slam Final. Come and see who will win the Poetry Grand Slam Champion title. The top six poets will be invited to compete at the Brave New Voices International Poetry Festival in Chicago. Join Ivy City SmokeHouse Tavern & Market this Saturday for their last #playitcooldcparty of 2017. DJ Life, Miss H.E.R., and Kyotey Grey will be on the 1s and 2s spinning classic hip-hop, R&B, and Reggae from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. 10. LOSING OUR CHAINS: SPOKEN WORD AFTER PARTY

Join the dynamic artists of Spit Dat DC as they perform original verses that explore struggles with chemical dependency, incarceration, and generational debt. Sometimes comical, always heartfelt, Losing our Chains offers insight into processing life’s struggles and releasing the chains of the past.
