3. COMMON PRAXIS

“Being from New Orleans “young professional” translates a little differently. College isn’t in the cards for everybody, but we still build businesses and sit among the best in our various crafts and fields. Common Praxis is for ALL young professionals of color with or without the Ph.D. or 40 under 40 mentions. It’s for artists, entrepreneurs, partners, CEO’s, principals, and teachers. 4. COOLNASTY WEEKLY JAM

5. BLACK HISTORY MONTH – A COMEDY SHOW

6. DEE-1 SLINGSHOT DAVID TOUR

David Augustine Jr., better known as Dee-1, is a local New Orleans rapper whose lyrics are vocal on social activism, faith and the college debt crisis. He received national success with the single “Sallie Mae Back,” where he rapped about having paid off all his college loans. That’s a song that many people wish they could sign along to. The vast Nerd Horde will once again take to the streets to celebrate its love for the Sacred Drunken Wookiee with the theme “Get On Board the Mothership”. The Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus also announces an across the board paradigm shift that takes the Krewe in the direction of an even more Decentralized DIY approach to Carnival.
